Borussia Dortmund striker Sebastien Haller has left the pre-season training camp prematurely in Switzerland after a tumour was found in his testicle, the German club announced on Tuesday.
The 28-year-old Ivory Coast player had only recently joined Borussia Dortmund after spending a year with Ajax. On July 6, 2022, Haller signed a contract with Dortmund until June 30, 2026. He had scored 34 goals for the Dutch side Ajax last season, including 11 in eight Champions League matches.
Dortmund in a statement said that Haller complained that he felt unwell after training on Monday and following a series of thorough medical examination conducted during the course of the day, a testicular tumour was discovered. The club added that further examinations will take place in a specialist medical facility over the coming days.
